This Privacy Policy explains how Legaris ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our mobile application and website (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information we collect
When you create a Legaris account, we collect your email address (for authentication) and any display name you choose. When you use the Service, you may upload documents, photos, and metadata about your family's records. This data is stored in your private, encrypted space and is protected by strict security rules that only allow you — the authenticated owner — to access it. We do not collect, store, or process the contents of your documents for any purpose other than providing the Service to you.
2. How we use your information
We use your email address to authenticate your account and send essential service communications (password resets, security notices). We use the documents and data you upload solely to provide the Service — displaying them to you, running SI (artificial intelligence AI)-based classification and extraction via our SI, and syncing across your devices. We never sell your data. We never share your data with advertisers. We never use your data to train SI models.
3. Data storage and security
Your data is stored in encrypted cloud storage, protected by strict security rules that deny all access except to the authenticated owner. Documents are stored in your private encrypted space and are only accessible with your authenticated session. We use industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. Despite these measures, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
4. SI (artificial intelligence AI) processing
When you use Smart Scan, your document images are processed by our SI (artificial intelligence AI) provider for scanning, classification, and key detail extraction. Images are optimized before processing. The SI provider processes the image and returns structured data; we do not authorize the provider to store or train on your images. If you prefer not to use SI, Smart Scan falls back to an on-device mode that works without SI.
5. Third-party services
We use encrypted cloud storage for authentication, database, and file storage; Apple App Store and Google Play Store for payments and distribution. These providers have their own privacy policies. We do not use any advertising, analytics, or tracking technologies in the Service.
6. Your rights
You can access, export, or delete your data at any time from within the app. To delete your account and all associated data, use Settings → Delete Account, or contact us at privacy@legaris.co. Account deletion is irreversible and removes all documents, metadata, and account information within 30 days.
7. Children's privacy
Legaris is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. International users
Legaris is available globally. Your data is stored on secure cloud servers, which may be located outside your country of residence. By using the Service, you consent to this cross-border data transfer.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
